26 Weeks Pregnant

So, here I am officially at 26 weeks. The past two weeks have gone by pretty fast and the babies have grown at what seems like break-neck speeds. It's amazing to feel them week to week. The difference in their kicks are amazing. Before they were just little bumps, now, it feels like someone is pushing a pork rib bone across my stomach from the inside out. That's really the best way I can describe it at this point. But there are 4 rib bones pushing and moving at one time. I can honestly say that I have some very busy little girls. They are constantly moving and grooving!

Our A/C ran out of coolant and it's been H-O-T in the house this past week. Not to mention that I am super hot from being pregnant on top of it all. Our "handyman" is going to be coming this afternoon to refill us. I am very happy about that. No more 80 degree weather indoors. Woo-Hoo!

Did I mention that we finally got our sectional?!? I love it and am so happy it's finally here. I'm such a hormonal basket case I started crying when we first put it in because I started imagining the girls pulling up on it and using it to learn to walk. Yes, I know, "But H2Mommy, they aren't even born yet!"

Another 24 Week Update

I went to my regular OB appointment today and got my test results back from the blood work I did on Monday. My gestational diabetes test came back negative (YEAH!) but my anemia/blood iron test came back very, very low. This really makes sense and I thought this would probably happen. With twins they like to drain you of your iron much more than just one baby and I was slightly anemic to begin with even before becoming pregnant. I now have to take an iron supplement everyday along with my other vitamins. The iron pills are huge! I thought the prenatals were large...they got nothing on these bad boys. But, as I've said before...whatever it takes to make sure the girls are healthy and I'm healthy for them. Whatever tests they wanna do, if it'll help the girls, I am all for it.

At my next appointment (28 weeks) I have to get a shot because I the girls and I am Rh incompatible. This really isn't going to be a big problem. My Mother and I were incompatible and everything went well.

We are supposed to be able to pick up our sofa today. I am going to call and confirm that it's there and let them know what time R will be coming to get it. Hopefully everything goes well this time. It'll be nice to actually have have my living room look normal. Right now it's just a big 'ol mess.

24 Weeks Pregnant

I went to the girls 24 week ultrasound appointment today and everything is going great. They are officially out of the woods when it comes to the twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome and they are still 100%.

The girls were sitting in the position in which Baby A (H1) would come out first and Baby B (H2) would be second. Today we found out that they have switched and H2 would be first if they came right now and H1 would be second.

They are also both breach at the moment (that can and probably will change) and about 12 to 12.5 inches long. H1 weighs 1lb 8 oz and H2 weighs 1lb 7oz so far. It's amazing to see how much they've grown already. They were both wiggling so much that the doctor had some trouble getting good photos because they wouldn't hold still.

17 Weeks Pregnant

I'm trying to decide if I want to post my belly photos. I've been taking them since I was 9 weeks and I'm 17 now. I'm a bit embarrassed about showing my bare stomach to everyone.

Lately things have been going slowly and bumpy. I've been desperately trying to get our house cleaned and organized but it's not as easy as it seems. The fact that I can't lift anything over 15 pounds really makes things difficult. Normally I would be moving furniture and lugging boxes around but now...I'm stuck. Also the fact that I'm terribly exhausted even before I start doing anything much less. Slowly but surely I guess. I only have a few months more to work on the house so I just gotta push through it. It's just frustrating knowing that you have so much stuff to do and such a small amount of time to do it. When I can actually see some real progress I think it will motivate me a bit more...now, it's just depressing. :-/

I went to my second appointment with my OB. I really didn't do or learn anything new. Since I get all my sonograms with the Internal Fetal Medical Specialist  my other appointments are really just about blood work and questions now. Everything is normal and all the crappy symptoms that I'm having are normal. I had to go get some more blood tests done to test for neural tubal defects (brain defects), cystic fibrosis, and other scary things. Tomorrow we get to see the doctor and hopefully, if the babies aren't camera shy, we will be able to find out what gender they are.
