We've been taking some big steps forward lately.
I've been working on and off with the girls potty training since they turned two and it's been a long road but I believe that they're finally starting to get the idea. They have been in big girl panties with only #2 accidents for over a week now. They will go #1 all day long but when it comes down to it they just go in their undies for #2. I have no idea why, they'll do it sometimes but not others. They aren't scared and know that they need to go ahead of time but they just won't go into the bathroom to do it. Just one more thing to work on I guess.
I also tried the big girl beds over a month ago and it was a disaster! They didn't go to sleep until after 4am and I was a walking zombie. Every time I turned my back (even when I was still in the room) they would hop out of the bed. If I wasn't in the room they would get into any and everything they could get their hands on. Ever drawer was open, every item of clothing was on the floor, ect. That night they probably were physically in the bed for a total of 10 minutes until I eventually gave up and put the fronts of their cribs back on.
I waited about a month and tried again as much as I was dreading it. I was bound and determined to have my big three year olds in toddler beds! The first night was rough but not as bad as the first attempt. They finally passed out a little after midnight with their room a wreck but I just let it go and was grateful they fell asleep. They didn't take a nap the next day and they didn't fall asleep until around 11pm that night. The second morning I awoke to find that they had swapped beds and woke up at 5am! Needless to say nap time the next day went smoothly because they were so tired. Each subsequent night has gotten easier and they're falling asleep faster. Last night was the first night that they laid down, talked for a bit, swapped lovies and then fell asleep before 9pm. Mommy was a happy camper and the girls are finally seeming rested.
