The Real Ying Yang Twins

After our bath the girls were getting tired but still playing so I let them continue for a bit while I washed some dishes. When I walked back into the living room I saw this adorable (and sleepy) sight!

Splashing In The Frog Pool

The girls were in an extremely messy mood today and I, genius I am, decided that pasta and marinara sauce sounded like a good idea for them to eat for lunch. I was at least smart enough to take off their nice clothes before putting them in the highchairs! I was already planning on letting them splash in their pool in the afternoon anyway and since they made such a mess it fit perfectly into my plan. I slapped a swim diaper on them and let them free!

They had a ball in their new pool that Nana gave them and found the giant eyeballs hilarious. H1 kept on trying to grab them and when her slick wet hand would slide off she would start laughing. H2 was more interested in seeing how to get the frogs spots off from the back of the canopy. She poked and prodded and grabbed and scratched until she finally gave up.

These girls are like little fish. You got water? You're their new best friends!

Cousin A's Birthday Party

Today we went to our cousin A's fourth birthday party. We had so much fun! Austin had a cowboy themed party with cowboy hats, horse rides and everything.

Helping grill some food for everyone to eat.

H2 says "Howdy Partner!"

A couple of family friends brought their horses over to let the kids see them and go on a ride. H1 could really have cared less but H2 really liked them. She definitely seems to be the animal lover.

H1 sitting on Papa's lap playing with a balloon and watching the horses.

Giddy Up A!

After everyone petted and rode the horses we went inside to eat. The girls had a great appetite and ate nearly an entire hamburger each! Then the bigger kids were getting in the pool. I forgot their and my swimsuits so we just stripped them down into their bloomers and let Aunt S and Ms. S hold them and let them swim. They love the water. They were exhausted by the time we loaded up and they fell asleep on the ride home. All in all it was a wonderful day!

A Great Way To Start The Day...

I had a little surprise waiting for me when the girls woke up this morning. Miss H2 our resident naturist was buck naked jumping up and down in her bed! She had not only taken her diaper off but also her night gown and had tossed them both completely out of her crib. Now I must admit this is not the first time I have found her sans diaper but that other time was after a nap. Who knows how long she slept naked?!? It's a wonder she didn't freeze her tooshy off. She was as happy as a clam as she usually is when she's nude. I think her favorite part of the day is after their bath when she has what we have not deemed as "Naked Time".

Now she not always loved being naked, as proven by her first bath. As soon as those clothes came off of her she went into panic mode and hollered at us until they went back on.

H2's 4th Tooth

The girls just woke up from their mid-morning nap and H2 was gnawing away on her teether that is in her crib. Upon diaper changes I noticed a little white speck in her mouth and sure enough there it was!

I am starting to think more and more that the girls may be mirror image twins although I won't know for certain until they begin using hand dominance. As their hair has grown more I've noticed that, like her Daddy, H2 has two crowns on her head. One goes clockwise and the other goes counter clockwise. Also, the order in which their teeth have come in makes me really think. H2's teeth came in bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left while H1's have come in bottom left, bottom right, top left, and eventually top right. I guess only time will tell for certain.

Our 1st Boat Ride

Today the clan headed down to "the boat club" that Nana and Papa belong to for a change of scenery. We got there right before noon and everyone brought something to eat for lunch. All the boys went out and grilled...well, scratch that...went out and watched Papa grill and us girls hung out inside the camper out of the heat. It began raining mid way through cooking so everyone came inside to eat.

After the we finished eating the rain subsided and it was nice out. Not to hot and no blazing sun which is great for kids skin. Austin went down to the bank of the river with the rest of the men in tow and went fishing. He did an awesome job and caught quite a few critters. While they were doing that we tried to get the girls to go down for a nap but they weren't having it at all. So, we decided to continue on with the day, suited the girls up to swim and headed out side. H1 had on her red swim suit and H2 had on her yellow one. Nana got them for them!

They had a fun time swimming and were splashing up a storm. Of course H2 kept trying to put her face under the water. That girls has no fear of the water at all. That can be both a good and a bad thing. After swimming for a bit it was time to go on our boat ride. Nana found the girls some life jackets so we suited up and got ready. They looked precious in their jackets! They reminded us of turtles because of the way their heads and arms stuck out. They did a good job with the jackets even thought they could barely move in them. It also just so happened that Ryan had on a shirt that matched H2's jacket and I had a on a shirt that matched H1's! We hoped in the boat with Papa and off we went. At first they didn't know what to think about it all and H1 got a little scared but Papa just pulled her under is arm and she was fine. They both kept their eyes closed most of the ride and for a minute I thought that H2 had fallen asleep. We rode down the river to a bend and turned around. It was a short trip but the perfect amount of time for first time riders like themselves. Once they got out of the boat they started talking up a storm. It was thought they were sitting there telling everyone what they just did! After we got out it was Austin's turn so he jumped in with Uncle R and Papa.

After everyone was done riding we started to pack up and go. I was sad to have to leave already but we had already had a jam packed day. We didn't even get a mile down the road before the girls passed out in their car seats. It was a great end to a wonderful day.

Our 2nd Independance Day

H1 and H2

For our second Independence Day we went to our friends E and O's 1st birthday party. They are also identical twin girls so us Mommies always have a lot to talk about! We had an absolutely blast although H1 get pretty jealous whenever E and O were opening their presents. She wanted a little piece of the tissue paper action. The girls got rubber duckies for their birthday so of course H1 and H2 thought it only appropriate to go grab them from the stack of birthday presents.

Now that's a lot of twinnies!!!

A year ago on the 4th my little babies were a day shy of one month old. Their first Independence Day was spent at Nana and Papa's house. Looking back on it now I can barely remember them ever being that small!

H1's 3rd Tooth

H1 finally got her third tooth in today. It's been sitting on the edge of rupture for nearly two weeks now and we are all happy that it has finally come through. It has been rough on her since she was teething on top of having her ear infection. Thankfully both are finished with now.

I have been really bad about taking pictures lately. The girls are like little whirling dervishes and I am having a difficult time keeping up. With everything that's been going on around here lately with their birthday, illness, friends and family birthdays I haven't had time to think. I will try and get some pictures and video of them walking soon.
