Meet Miss Kit

I would like to introduce the newest member of our family; Miss Kit. She showed up on our doorstep the other night looking for a new home. She is all black with the exception of one very small white patch on her chest. Kit is extremely lovey and is more like a dog than a cat in terms of wanting to be held, petted, and played with. She is also very talkative. She tells you when she's hungry or when she wants to play. (That's her talking in the photo to the left.) She is also a purr maniac!!! Kit has also done very well with the babies. I am proud to say that she went over and sniffs them every now and then but she mostly leaves them alone. Don't worry though...I don't let her around them alone. We are happy to have her here and will be taking her to get all her vaccines and claws done soon.

Other than Kit we haven't had anything too exciting happening lately. Just the usual things. Sleeping, eating, diapers, naps, and playing. The girls love to watch the cat walk around. They think she is funny and with her dark color I believe they can see her well.

Our 3 Month Photos!

3 months old.

Our individual photos...aren't we cute?!? We didn't feel like doing a lot of smiling that day...especially H2. She didn't even crack one single smile until the camera was away. She always smiles for pictures at home and H1 never does so we decided to change it up this time.

This is Mommy's favorite picture. We did such a great job holding ourselves up and didn't get mad one bit. We both kept trying to talk that's why H2 looks like she's in mid-sentence.

It was hard to get us both to look at the camera at the same time but sure enough we did! We kept on trying to grab the flowers. They felt nice and soft.

Fun Saturday!

We had a fun day today. Stephanie (my cousin), Ryan (her husband), Brady (her 2 year old son) and Layci (her 4 month old girl) came into town to bring my other cousin Tes and James' baby furniture up. Now their (to be born in December) son P.J.'s room is almost all done and SO cute! The girls had a great time looking at the colors of his room watching Brady. He is very entertaining! H2 showed Stephanie how she could roll over and then her and Brady sat on the floor talking to each other. It was just too cute! We had a nice time seeing them all today. I wish we could do it more often.

We also got their 3 month photos in. They are adorable and I am so excited to share them with you all. I just need to break out the scanner! I'm very pleased with the photos that we got. I was worried about having them both look good in their pictures (which is difficult to do) but they did a great job.

Fun With Pods

Today the girls are really in a "sitting up" mood so I busted out the BeBe Pods. They absolutely LOVE these things. They like their bouncys and all but the Pods definitely win in that fight. They come with a thing that you can add a tray to eat on (like a highchair) and a toy to play with. They can not yet reach the toy to play with it so what I do it put the stoppers on and put their Bun-Buns over it. They have fun reaching for the Buns and trying, successfully now, to get them into their mouth. This is the third photo I have with me and the girls. The first one is from the first time I got to hold them in the hospital and the second is when we were first at home. It took me forever to figure out how to put the self timer on. This isn't the best photo of any of us but it'll do.

When they were sitting in their Pods they kept on watching each other. I caught this photo just in time. H2 thought H1 was just so funny playing with her Bun. She turned her head towards H1 when she smiled. They love watching each other now.

They also enjoy trying to steal each others toys now. Whoever has the closest toy...it's on! It especially happens when they have a soft toy like their Buns or their Lovies (the rabbits that their Nana gave them when they were born.) The Lovies are still a little more difficult for them to grasp since they are bigger. That doesn't stop them from trying though. I need to get another photo of them with the Lovies. Their first photos from the hospital are with them and I'd love to continue that little tradition every 3 months or so. I'll work on that tomorrow. Maybe I can get them still long enough...maybe!
The girls are still always trying to hold each others hands. They did it for the first time at the hospital right after they were born. It usually happens when they go to sleep at night. I caught this little moment today. They sat this way for a few minutes just looking around. It was too cute for words.

Rollin' Around Some More...

I just had to add these photos from yesterday. The girls are doing so well holding themselves up. They are really starting to enjoy their "tummy time" more now that they can hold their heads up and look around. H2 had been doing pretty good for awhile but now H1 has gained on her and is looking around just as well.
And I also had to post about this...

H2 started rolling around the living room and got herself underneath H1's bouncy seat. I watched her do it(...and no she didn't hurt herself at all!) She thought it was hilarious and so did I.

Rollin' Around

So, I think I finally got a video of H2 rolling over. They are both playing on their "mat" and of course every time H2 lays down she starts to roll.

I'm happy she's rolling early but it makes it hard for them to play on the mat together. She rolls over constantly and she makes herself mad being on her belly all the time. I hate to hear her get so mad. H1 tries to roll but isn't quite there yet. She'll roll onto her side but rolls right back to her back.

And I know it is probably bad but I just LOVE their mad faces. They're cute even when they are ticked off.

We had fun seeing Aunt Tes and Uncle James yesterday. We loved how colorful our baby cousins room is, especially H1.

The Moon is Out

We had a fun night last night. The girls woke up at 1am instead of their normal 12am. I went in and picked up H1 first to change her diaper. I went to button her jammies back and up and realized that it was going to be a lot more difficult that I thought. This was the first time they had worn these so I had no experience with the buttons. It took me nearly a good 5 minutes just to get one of her legs back in and of course they were both getting pretty mad by then. Luckily when it came to changing H2 I had a better idea of how to get at those snaps. *sheesh*

The girls slept the longest overnight that they had ever slept. From 1am to 8:30am!!! I barely knew what to think this morning. I was woken by then just talking away. When I went to check on them the girls were laying there holding hands looking at each other and talking and giggling. Too cute!!! It always makes it wonderful to wake up to smiling happy girls. I of course had to run and grab the camera to get a photo of them. When I walked back in they had stopped looking at each other and were talking up at their butterfly mobile. H1 found the crib bumper and decided she was going to try and get it into her mouth. It was too funny.

We are going to go over to Aunt Tes' house this afternoon. We are excited to see our soon-to-be new baby cousin Patrick's room and get loves!

We Officially Have Cribs!

It took nearly 5 months but we finally have all the girls furniture in the house and put together. The cribs are beautiful and I am so happy we stuck to our guns and waited it out. Both girls are sleeping in one crib for the time being. We'll see how it goes. We have yet to put the pictures/decor on the walls. We need to get some more nails.

Here are a few photos of the room.

In other news, I was finally able to capture H2 rolling over. Every time I tried she would either stop and just sit and smile at me (she knows what she's doing!) or the camera would run out of battery/disk would be full. I thought I could post it but I don't have the software to get the tape from the camera to my computer. I will have to look into that.

Both the girls are taking a quick afternoon nap in their bouncy seats. It took H2 awhile to calm down enough to actually fall asleep but a little suck on the pow-pow (what we call pacifiers) and she was out. I'd better get some things done around the house before they wake up.

The Goal...

My goal for this blog is to update (at least every other day) to let friends and family stay connected to the dailey goings on here in the Hamilton household.

Our First Trip Out of Town

We are going to be attempting out first out of town trip. We are going to visit my family for the next 10 days. I am very excited and a bit nervous.

Wish us luck!

Welcome to Our World

Allow me to introduce myself. I am H2Mommy the 22 year old stay-at-home Mommy of my beautiful 3 month old identical twin girls H1 and H2.
I am married to my wonderful husband R. We have been married now for a little over one year now as of September 3rd.

The day I found out I was pregnant was October 12, 2006. We were in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on our late honeymoon. As soon as we found out we went onto the back porch that sat over the river and talked about how our lives were going to change. As we talked I mentioned how I thought it could be twins. R thought it was a boy.
This is the photo we took together in our cabin right after the stick turned pink.

When we got home we surprised our families with the big news. To surprise my Mom we bought her a key chain that said #1 Grandma. We gave it to her in a group of souvenirs from Tennessee. She looked down at it and was expecting it to say Pigeon Forge. Her face was priceless. Whenever we told my in-laws the first thing out of my Mother-in-laws mouth was "You know, it's going to be twin girls!"

We went to my first ultrasound on December 5, 2006 when I was 13 weeks with my AMAZING Dr. Mc. We found out that we were having twins. As soon as I saw them I turned to R and said "Your Mom was right!!!"

13 Week Belly Photo

As my pregnancy progressed through awful morning sickness (that made me loose 10lbs) and bad back pain, my stomach grew and grew.

At 17 weeks we found out that both the babies were girls and were identical twins. We chose their names...

Through the pregnancy the girls kept flipping back and forth from beech to to head-down. H1 ended up being breech and H2 was transverse (aka: sideways). I planned my c-section for June 5, 2006.
I went to the hospital at 9:30 am

and walked into the OR at 12:00 pm.
And had H1 at 12:54 pm and H2 at 12:55 pm.

Welcome to the world sweet baby girls!

We Got Cribs!

The cribs are officially here!!! R went and picked up the boxes today. We'll put them together tonight. *WOO-HOO* This is a photo of the furniture we have. We have 2 of the cribs, one tall dresser, and the changing table. My Aunt Lissa got them for us and we are extremely grateful.

When R went to the baby store and picked up the cribs he picked up a present for the girls. He got them a big (HUGE!) German Sheppard plush dog. We have a German Shepard named Buddy so it was only fitting. They love to sit and stare at it.

9 Weeks Old

What a day...what a day! I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. I nearly fell asleep when my MIL came over to visit this afternoon.

The girls weren't feeling too good today. They were really fussy and their tummies were bothering them. We had a good little 4 hour gap of happiness and giggles...but then they were either half asleep of crying the rest of the day. My poor babies!

3 Months Old

I can't believe that my little girls are 3 months old today. Where has the time gone? They are growing and learning to quickly. It makes me so happy and yet so sad.

When they got up this morning I took TONS of pictures of them. That's one of the good things about having a digital camera. You can snap away and not worry about wasting film.

We go on Saturday to get their "real" 3 month photos taken. I am VERY excited about that.

H2 Rolled Over!

H2 rolled over for the first time!!!! She is so amazing. She always got so mad whenever she tried to roll because she couldn't but this time she just whipped on over as though she was an old pro. I wish I had the camera with me...it was so neat!

Now I'll just have to wait for H1's turn.
