Icky Day

The girls were doing so well for the past few days until yesterday afternoon. I don't know what happened but they started acting worse than they did when their infections first started. They were crying up storm and extremely clingy. I think that on top of their ear infections they are both also teething. Great huh?!? We were all relieved when Ryan got home from work last night. An extra set of hands to cuddle and someone to talk to about what was going on. I've been keeping their antibiotics and pain medication in them and hoping for the best. They have still been very fussy today though H1 is definitely seeming to start feeling better and actually playing with her toys. H2 on the other hand is just as sick as she was the other day. She played for about thirty minutes and then it was as though someone flipped on her "I'm sick switch" and she came screaming across the living room for me.

Ear Infections

The girls have been acting really puny and and been crying a lot so I took them to the doctor early this morning. Come to find out they both have ear infections! H1's is in her right ear and H2's is in her left; because, of course, they have to do everything mirroring each other. I got some pain drops to go in their ears and some antibiotics to hopefully help them out. They are not running fevers and sound be better by the end of the week.

It's amazing to me how quickly H2 losses weight whenever she's is even the slightest bit sick. She had finally caught back up to H1 and then -boom- two days of illness and she's down again big time. They both ate a decent dinner last night but I guess it was just a combination of refusing their milk and not eating all their dinner. So as of today H1 is 19lb 1oz and H2 is 18lb 1oz.

That's Not A Little Girl...

I didn't give birth to a little girl...I birthed a tiny chimpanzee! I swear H2 is such a climber. Anything she can get onto and climb up she is all over. Yesterday the bouncy seat, today the laundry hamper (clean clothes included - thanks!), tomorrow Mt. Everest!

H1 Stood Up Without Help

Not to be outdone by her baby sister Miss H1 stood up in the middle of the floor without any leverage today.

They really are growing by leaps and bounds the past month or so. With drinking whole milk, eating mostly table food, signing, trying to talk, and walking up a storm; I'm surprised they aren't planning on going off to college next week!

H2 Went Pee-Pee In The Potty

Today the potty chairs that Mimi got the girls for their birthday came in the mail. The girls were so excited and helped me rip open the boxes and take them out. I figured it wouldn't hurt to set them on them (diaper free) to show them what they are supposed to do. They were both sitting and smiling then I started to hear a little noise. H2 pee-peed! It really was quite amazing. She got extremely excited for herself and started to clap. H1 figured that she should clap too! We got diapers back on and me and H2 took her seat into the bathroom to flush.Neither of them are frightened of the noise from the toilet and she started clapping when we flushed. It's almost as though she knew what she was doing!!! I am going to start doing some internet research about starting potty training early.

H2 Stood Up Without Help

H2 proceeded to go from a sitting to standing position today without holding onto anything. She was sitting in the middle of the living room and just pop on up. She got extremely excited about and started clapping for herself, which in-turn caused her to fall back down!

Our 1st Birthday Party

In their birthday tu-tus!

Baby Party!!!

The girls had an awesome time playing with their friends. There was definitely a house full of babies. My Dad called the downstairs living room "The Romper Room"! Two sets of identical twins, three one year old's and a 3 month old!!! The entire time they were playing the girls favorite toy was two empty water bottles. Imagine that. All the toys in the world and they go for the water bottles. After playing for quite awhile lunch was ready so we took shifts and got some food. Then, it was time to change into our bathing suits and go for a dip in the pool.

In their sun hats.

They were so big we finally had to take them off because they couldn't see where they were going! They did a really great job of keeping them on though which surprised us all. All the babies had a wonderful time splashing around in the pool. A few of the more adventure babies went over and played on the slip and slide too. Both girls decided they'd stick with their pool though. They're really good about not trying to get out and venture off. Once they're in they usually stay that way until you get them out.

All the boys went and played of the slip and slide - even the littlest! They had a lot of fun and it was a nice cool down on an extremely hot day. It ended up being over 100 degrees out. We didn't stay outside long.

Daddy, Uncle Rodney and Cousin A fishing in the pond. They caught some catfish and Cousin A had a blast!

Our yummy cakes.

After went went swimming everyone got dried off and we got ready for the cake. The girls were stripped down to their diaper with only a pull over bib and their crowns on. We sang Happy Birthday to each of them and let them "blow" out their candle. They didn't know what to think of the flame still.

On your mark, get set, GO!

H1

H2
I honestly believed that H1 would be the one to just barely dig into the cake and H2 would go all out but boy was I wrong. H2 only got into the icing but H1 dug in so far she actually ate the cake! After the cake we got a nice sippy cup of milk, got washed off and got ready for presents.

The girls are definitely loved. They got so many amazing and adorable gifts from everyone! They were so tired by the time we started opening them I don't think they really realized what was going on. They just kind of sat there in a birthday cake daze. Our little friend helped us out though!

All in all it was an amazing day! Everything went off without a hitch (although most of the balloons deflated in the heat within an hour!) and everyone had a lot of fun. I am happy to say our first birthday party was a success.

H2 and The Hippo

H2 was able to crawl up and onto the hippo walk/rider that Aunt Sarah, Uncle Rodney and Austin for them for Christmas. She just swung that little chubby leg over and climbed on board! She was very proud of herself and sat there for quite awhile until H1 tried to push her around in it. She wasn't having any of that!

Playing In Doodle's Cabinet

We went to Doodle's house today to visit. We got there before she did the girls were playing in the living room with our toys. Well, I guess that they must have gotten bored before I look up and they aren't there any more. I hear a kitchen cabinet open and a crash so I grabbed my camera and ran to see what mischief they'd gotten into and this is what I found...

I snapped a few quick pictures and got them out of there. Playing in the cabinets is definitely not one of those things I want to encourage. At least in our house they can't get to the kitchen but if and when we go to visit I don't want them invoking terror on family and friends Tupperware! I was just waiting for them to turn to me and say "Hey Ma, what's for dinner?!?"

Happy 1st Birthday H2

My Little Bug:

My busy girl with her eye on everything. I swear that you are my little private eye and always being nosy. Sis better watch out for you when you all get bigger because I bet you'll be going through her diary! You came into this world so calm and silent but little did we knew it was merely the calm before the storm. You are a whirl wind of activity and always keep my on my toes. And although your sister made me a mother you made me a better mother! You are my little diamond in the rough and I love to see you sparkle.

I love you,
Mommy

Happy 1st Birthday H1

To My Little Bear,

Oh how much you have grown. My little girl who came into this world kicking and screaming; I just know what you have so many things to tell me and the world. In my belly your moved and grooved and now you love to bebop to all types of music. I have a feeling you are going to be a dancer! You were my only child for an entire minute and I treasure that time. You light up my day with each of your beautiful smiles and your beautiful heart. You always share everything you have with everyone and you never meet a stranger. I love you my baby ballerina!

Love always,
Mommy

Tooth Number 3

This afternoon while getting the girls ready for bed I noticed that H2 upper right tooth finally came through. Her left one will probably only be a few days behind.
